How does The Kosher Closet work?

We help you find modest clothing from many stores in one calm place, with clear coverage, sizing and delivery details. When you choose an item, you continue to the store's own website to buy it. The store takes the payment, ships the order and handles returns.

You do not need an account to browse, keep a shopping list or continue to a store.

Where is my order?

Your order stays with the store, so only the store can see it. Use the order-tracking link in the store's confirmation email, or sign in on the store's website. We never see your payment or order details.

How do I return something?

Returns go to the store you bought from, under that store's return policy. Each item shows Free returns, Not free (store's policy applies) or Not verified. "Not verified" means we could not confirm it, so please check the store's policy before buying.

Why is the price different at the store?

Each item shows when its price was last checked. Stores can change prices at any time, and items older than 24 hours are hidden automatically. The store always shows the final price, tax and delivery before you pay. We may earn a commission from some stores. It never changes your price, which items we show, or their order.

How do I choose a size?

When the store has published a size chart we have checked, the item page shows it. Members can save private measurements for themselves and their family to get a suggested size. When the evidence is not enough, we say so instead of guessing. Members can also hear a suggested size during a verified phone call, typing measurements on the keypad. Measurements are never taken by text message or spoken aloud, and never sent by text. Your sizing details stay private in your account; you can change or delete them at any time.

What does "Separate shell needed" mean?

The item needs a layer underneath (a shell) for the coverage most of our shoppers want. The shell is not included in the price unless the store says so.

Membership and cancelling

Membership is optional. Browsing, the shopping list and continuing to stores never require it. Paid enrollment is not open yet, so no one is being charged. When it opens, membership renews automatically each month or year until you cancel. You can cancel any time from your account page or by phone, and you will not be charged again; you keep access until the end of the period you paid for.

Privacy

Private measurements are encrypted, and the privacy notice explains exactly what is stored and why.
